Avery is absolutely beautiful, inside and out.
Linda and her rescue partner, Rachel, of Twenty Paws Rescue in NY, rescued Avery when she entered a high kill shelter in 2013. She was only 4 months old. She entered the sheltered injured, and the Twenty Paws Rescue team rushed her to one of their veterinarian offices.
After a quick work up and x-rays, the doctor told Linda and Rachel that she had seventeen broken bones. A human with blunt trauma most likely caused the injuries. Avery did not have any signs of bleeding or bites that would have told them the injuries were from a car accident or dog fighting. The vet told Linda and Rachel that it was possible for her to live a good life, so they decided to go forward with her first surgery. Through the abuse, the surgery, and the difficulties of her journey, Avery still smiles everyday and loves life.
Twenty Paws has cared for Avery since 2013, and she is currently in boarding. It is heartbreaking that she is still waiting for her forever (or even foster) family to find her. Their team has worked tirelessly for years without giving up, and they could use the help to get her name out there. It’s time for Avery to find her forever humans!
Avery is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. She is also fully vetted, microchipped, and healthy. She is low energy and simply looking for a quiet home and a best friend. Avery must live as the only pet in the house, as she likes her space! Avery can be adopted in VT, NH, ME, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA.
