About a year ago, Hannah met a little, scared pup only known as Animal ID#A482508. She was picked up as a stray by animal control outside of Seattle. She was so scared to leave the shelter that she peed on the floor as they walked her out (something she’s never done since). Hannah brought this nervous, little, shaven-bellied girl home, not really knowing what to expect.
In the past year, Charlotte has accompanied her forever mom (by plane, train, bus, subway, ferry, and bike) almost wherever she goes: across the country, into too many public restrooms, into professors’ offices, and pretty much everywhere else.
In her first months at home, she was only willing to climb into her grandpa’s lap if he coaxed her with pickles. Now, she is a bright, sweet, goofy, loving dog who makes friends everywhere she goes and won’t hesitate to greet a stranger! She recently made friends with an elderly dog whose owners believed he could never make a dog friend. She has made a dog-lover (or at least Charlotte-lover) out of a girl who used to be terrified to see a dog on the street. She snuggles when it’s cold and gets her mom out of bed in the morning with her silly antics.
Charlotte amazes her mom every single day, and she’s so thankful to have given her a forever home.
