By Jarissa Aquinde, Positively Woof Rescue and Adoption Story Editor Marley was saved from Moultrie County Animal Control in Georgia by the amazing folks at Save A Life Pet Rescue.
For quite some time, Liz was stalking the Save A Life Pet Rescue website, browsing the adoptable dogs. After months of pleading with her husband, Steven, about adding another dog to their family, he woke up one morning and stood in line at one of the adoption events put on by the rescue. He put Liz’s name on a list so she could come back at lunch time to meet a brown dog. They were #11 on the meet and greet list.
When the rescue bus arrived with all the adorable dogs in need, Liz and her nine year old daughter, Taylor, waited anxiously to see the brown dog. Rescue staff and volunteers placed all of the adoptable dogs in little plastic pools and that’s when they noticed a sweet little white puppy with crust all over her nose.
This white puppy made eye contact with Liz and Taylor several times and they even joked that she was looking right at them. They instantly fell in love and when number 11 was called, Liz and Taylor both immediately agreed that they needed to meet to scruffy little girl with a crusty nose instead of the brown dog they planned to meet. They knew they had to adopt the white pup, and thankfully, the little brown dog also found a forever home that day.The white, scruffy dog is now named Marley. She lives with her forever parents, human sister, human brother (eight year old Nathan), Penny, a five year old miniature Labradoodle, and two fish friends. She loves to play with other dogs, loves going to the dog beach, exploring with her forever family…and treats of any kind!!
