Dog Rescue Stories: Meet Bentley the 3 Legged Pit Bull!

Valerie and her girlfriend adopted Bentley (who was a year old) from Lancaster Humane League in Pennsylvania. They were told that he was hit by a car and his previous owners couldn’t afford his surgery to amputate one of his legs.

Bentley was adopted the day he got his stitches out and has turned Valerie’s life around… in the best way possible! He was adopted during the winter, so at first, Bentley had trouble navigating when he was outside, as he would slip on the icy ground. Bentley’s family knew it would take some time for him to adjust to missing a leg. He would still try to scratch himself with his missing leg, so Valerie would also give him a hand. After a few months, his hair grew back and he was running again – one of his favorite activities!

Bentley hasn’t let having only three legs slow him down one bit! He now lives in Florida with his pawrents, and has so much love to give every single day!

Fun fact: my first owners named me Carter, and after I lost my leg and was taken in by the Lancaster humane league the employees changed my name to Finnley. Then my mommies came in to adopt me and they named me Bentley ♡

This is my sister lady buttercup she’s the mom of the household if we play to ruff she will be the first to say that’s enough, and will case us big pit bulls around until we stop. My mom’s always laugh when she does this cus she’s so small but I’m scared so I listen to her!!

I like to run away but now my mom’s fall to the ground when I do so I have to make sure their okay. 8. My dream is to be in dog races I love nothing more than to run. 9. I love car rides 10. I almost always pee on my front paws because I haven’t quite grasped the concept of how to potty with only 3 legs♡
