Dog Rescue Stories: Skye Is Changing People’s Minds About Pit Bulls

Skye is a Pit Bull / Boxer mix. She was found in Providence, RI wandering the streets as a young pup. The local shelter took her in and then NorthEast Rescue stepped up and found her a foster home.Skye’s forever parents were looking for a dog and a friend of her forever mom’s knew about her. Skye’s forever mom was nervous about adopting a Pit Bull type dog. Growing up, she always had mutts and there is so much false info circulating about Pitties. The next town over even had a ban on Pit Bulls for a while.

Skye’s family met her and instantly loved her. She had been in the foster home for a few months and was going to be adopted when they inquired about her, but luckily, the pending adoption fell through.  She has been in her forever home for a few months now and she is an awesome dog.  She is super cuddly, loving and such a sweet girl.  She is super friendly with other dogs and kids. She is a rockstar at the local dog parks and she is very silly.  Her human brother is 10 years old, plays baseball and Skye is so good with his teammates kids and the younger brothers and sisters. Skye’s forever parents get so many compliments about what a great dog she is and how she has changed peoples minds about Pit Bull type dogs.
