Teddy Bear Hobert, a Bearded Collie mix, just celebrated his 5th birthday on December 22nd! He was rescued by Southern Jewel Dog Rescue in Mississippi and lives with his forever parents in Connecticut. Not much is known about Teddy’s previous life, but his family does know that his fur-mom was pregnant with him at the time she was rescued. He was just three months old and living with a foster family when his forever family found him on Petfinder.
Teddy became a Canine Good Citizen and registered therapy dog with Tails of Joy/Pet Partners before he turned 18 months old. He and his forever mom volunteer a few times a week by visiting local nursing homes, visiting children at elementary schools, and by providing “stress relief” to college students during exam periods. They also volunteer at hospitals, adult day care centers, and at an in-patient psychiatric facility. Teddy is very intuitive, and know that when he puts on his red “work” bandana from Tails of joy, he has to be on his best behavior in exchange for hugs and scratches!!
Teddy’s best friend is his adopted fur-sibling, Tucker Man Hobert (a Beagle-Boxer mix). He was rescued by Tennessee Companion Pet Rescue when he was just eight weeks old. His forever dad’s co-worker was fostering him, and it was love at first sight!
These rescued brothers are making the most of their second chances at life by spreading love and joy wherever they go!!
