Dog Rescue Stories: Penelope Was Forced to Breed

By Jarissa Aquinde, Positively Woof Rescue and Adoption Story Editor
Allison and Jose rescued Penelope from the Best Friend’s NKLA shelter in West Los Angeles in September 2016. She is a 7-year-old American Staffordshire mix who loves to snuggle, sleep, and sniff everything in sight!
Penelope’s forever parents believe that she was a breeding dog, prior to making her way to the rescue shelter as a result of her stomach pouch and recent spay. Since finding her forever home, Penelope has taken over as the designated couch potato and food monitor.
She loves to play with her toy rope, give kisses, lay outside in the sun, and sneak into her parents’ bed after they’ve fallen asleep! She is a lovable girl with a unique personality and her mom and dad can’t imagine life without her!
