Right before Christmas, Sarah lost her pit bull and best friend, Morris, after thirteen years together. It was a very lonely holiday for Sarah and her husband, and she resolved that she was going to honor Morris (aka Momo) by going back to the city shelter to adopt another best friend.
It was January in Chicago and it was freezing outside. Sarah went to The City of Chicago Animal Care and Control to look at the adoptable dogs. The heat was out in the shelter, with only certain rooms being heated by a generator. Sarah thought the whole place felt anxious, and as she walked up and down the aisles, staring into sad, lonely eyes, she began to miss Momo even more. Suddenly, Bobo (then named Babe), came bounding in from a walk with a shelter volunteer. Bobo was so excited to be out of his kennel and was looking up at the volunteer with a huge grin. He was so full of life and sweetness, and he immediately stole Sarah’s heart! So, Sarah filled out adoption papers, texted her husband their new fur-baby’s picture and told him to pick up some dog food!
Bobo is loving life in his forever home with his “paw”rents and his human baby brother!!
