Dog Rescue Stories: Frenchy and her Good Human Were Meant to Be!

     Aliyah started volunteering for Animal Care & Control in New York City a little over a year ago. She came across an Instagram post of a stray dog who just had a litter and was in dire need of a home. Aliyah traveled two hours to visit Frenchy, a stray from Brooklyn who was left to freeze in the harsh winter. As soon as she stepped foot into the adoption room, Aliyah and Frenchy locked eyes, as if they both immediately knew they were meant to be! Aliyah asked the staff if she could bring her outside for a meet & greet. Frenchy’s eyes were lost. She was looking for her puppies and her family that she once knew. Aliyah crouched down to hold her, soothe her and tell her that everything was going to be okay. When it was time to put her back in her kennel, Frenchy let out a cry. A cry that was never heard since then.Frenchy and Human

     Frenchy stole Aliyah’s heart, and Frenchy got her forever home and furever mom! Not a day goes by that Aliyah regrets adopting Frenchy. Not a day goes by that Aliyah’s love for Frenchy doesn’t grow stronger. When Aliyah is having a bad day, she looks right beside her and remembers that she has the greatest gift of all!Frenchy 4

although I’m a few mins late I wanted to post my pittie girls #flashbackfriday photo the top right photo is her shelter intake photo after she was abandoned tied to a fence with her puppies missing in the middle of harsh January. The top left photo was a month after she was bought to the shelter skin and bones because she refused to eat and had kennel cough which lead to pneumonia. words can’t express how much this girl means to me she is my best friend and has shown me how resilient the Pitbull breed is. volunteering and meeting new faces not knowing if I’ll see them tomorrow makes me hug her even tighter every night. If you are considering getting a new pet visit your local shelter, these shelter pets are just as worthy as any other. PS.
