Pet Rescue Stories: Monkey Is Grateful for Her Forever Family!

Monkey

Monkey had a rough time trying to get adopted. She was abandoned by her previous owner and then “institutionalized” in the shelter system for about a year.  She was originally at South L.A. Animal Shelter aMonkey 1nd then was moved to West Valley Animal Shelter. Thankfully, Best Friends Animal Society pulled her from West Valley and saved her life. Even though Monkey was safe at Best Friends, her heart was broken several times, as she was adopted and returned more than once. Defeated, Monkey was in her kennel most of the time, so few people got to see her adorable little underbite and hazel eyes.

Amy’s friend Sherry (@Pawnuts on Instagram), who is an amazing rescue advocate, sent Monkey’s information, along with a picture of her wearing a boa and monkey ears. Amy found Monkey’s attitude irresistible and fell in love with her instantly!

When Amy adopted Monkey, she discovered something deeply special in this fur-baby: the sweetest, best natured dog with the most intensely emotional eyes Amy has ever met. Amy says that Monkey has completed her family. Monkey always shows her Good Humans how grateful she is to be in her forever home. Monkey is the perfect example for why rescuing is so important.
